Looking Ahead to 2021

The Covid-19 pandemic has touched all of our lives, and our thoughts go out to our treasured guests and trusted partners who have been affected. It feels as though the world has been turned upside down and our lives transformed in unimaginable ways.

We owe a massive debt of gratitude to each and every one of our wonderful guests for your support and understanding during these difficult and challenging times. Thank you so much. We know that many of you were unable to visit your favourite unspoilt Greek islands this year – we’re sure you missed your holidays, as we and everybody on Halki, Tilos and Nisyros (and Rhodes!) missed you.

While there was little normal about 2020, there were a few months during the summer when we managed to operate under a new normal. We welcomed guests at Rhodes Airport, armed with facemasks and hand gel, and whisked you to Halki and Tilos where we offered lovely, safe holidays enhanced by a raft of additional hygiene and safety measures. Thank you for entrusting us with your holidays; we hope you had a wonderful time and are sure that our partners on the islands appreciated your support, too.

2021: A Time to Dream

With winter looming and many countries, including Greece and the UK, heading back into lockdown, the road ahead feels long. But with talk of an effective vaccine, there’s also a sense of optimism and a light at the end of the tunnel. So it’s a great time to start dreaming a little.

During the first period of lockdown, we suggested a number of ways to satisfy your love of Greece while unable to travel. As an antidote to the lockdown gloom, this is also a fantastic time to look ahead and dream of your long-awaited return in 2021. We’re currently taking bookings for Halki, Tilos and Nisyros next year – indeed many of you carried over bookings from this year.

Whether you’re visiting the South Dodecanese for the first time or travel with us on a regular basis, we have a few ideas to inspire your next holiday to Greece.

• Are you – or do you dream of being – artistic? Then why not join our popular painting holiday in Halki. Held annually during the first two weeks of May, you’ll improve your painting skills with the assistance of distinguished artist, Margaret Wiles, while exploring the picturesque island of Halki.
• If you’re inspired by nature, a trip to Tilos will live long in your memory. While we enjoy incredible wildlife across the South Dodecanese and Greece in general, Tilos is particularly special. A long-standing hunting ban means rare and endangered wildlife abounds, and natural water springs across the island ensures the landscape is carpeted with wildflowers for much of the year. It’s also the most eco-friendly island in the Mediterranean!
• Are you captivated by geological wonders? Then how about a visit to one of the only active volcanic craters in the world. The dramatic volcano at the heart of Nisyros offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of visiting – and maybe walking inside – one of the largest and best-preserved hydrothermal craters in the world. The inspiring energy of the Nisyros volcano crackles throughout the island, making it a magical experience.
