A Cultural Guide to Rhodes Town

For many of our guests, Rhodes is a mere transit point en route to the peaceful, unspoilt islands of Halki and Tilos. However, while Rhodes Town is undeniably busier than our wonderful little islands, there’s plenty to be discovered here. Especially if you like history and culture.

Island Hopping in the Dodecanese

Tucked in the far reaches of the southeastern Aegean hugging the coastline of Turkey, the Dodecanese is a fascinating archipelago. Rich in history with abundant natural beauty, this magical cluster of islands is linked by a network of ferry services and, in some cases, flights, making it ideal for a spot of island hopping.

The Unspoilt Greek Islands of the Southern Dodecanese

Here at Nissia, we specialise in the unspoilt Greek islands of Halki and Tilos. However, Greece has a staggering 6,000 islands dotted around its picturesque coastline, of which around 200 are inhabited. So there are plenty more islands to explore.

Some of our customers enquire about day trips or even twin centre holidays to some of the other quiet islands of the southern Dodecanese, so here’s an overview of some of our favourite near-neighbours: Symi, Nisyros, Karpathos and Kastelorizo.
